| Heaven’s Greatest Delights |

Eye has not seen, nor ear heard ... the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. — 1 Corinthians 2:9

What will be one of heaven’s supreme joys? Joni Eareckson Tada, disabled as a teenager in a diving accident, has been a paraplegic for over 40 years. One would imagine that her greatest longing would be the ability to walk, even run, free from the confinement of her wheelchair.
But Joni tells us that her greatest desire is to offer a “praise that is pure.” She explains: “I won’t be crippled by distractions, or disabled by insincerity. I won’t be handicapped by a ho-hum half-heartedness. My heart will join with yours and bubble over with effervescent adoration. We will finally be able to fellowship fully with the Father and the Son. For me, this will be the best part of heaven.”
How that speaks to my divided heart and grips my unfocused spirit! What a blessing to offer “a praise that is pure,” with no wandering thoughts, no self-centered requests, no inability to soar above my earth-bound language!
In heaven, “there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him”(Rev.22:3). May the prospect of heaven enable us to experience a foretaste of that God-glorifying worship even here and now. — Vernon C. Grounds |

Revelation 22:1-5
[1] And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.
[2] In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
[3] And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.
[4] They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.
[5] There shall be no night there： They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. | |

| 천국에서 가장 큰 기쁨 |

| 하나님이 자기를 사랑하는 자들을 위하여 예비하신 모든 것은 눈으로 보지 못하고 사람의 마음으로도 생각지 못하였다 함과 같으니라－고린도전서 2:9 |
천국에서 가장 큰 기쁨은 무엇일까요? 다이빙 사고로 십대에 하반신이 마비된 조니 에릭슨 타다는 40년 넘게 장애를 갖고 살아 왔습니다. 그녀의 최고의 소망은 휠체어에서 벗어나 걸을 수 있고, 뛸 수 있는 것이라고 사람들은 상상할 것입니다.
그러나 조니는 그녀의 최고의 소망은 “순수한 찬양”을 드리는 것이라고 하면서 그것에 대해 설명했습니다. “저는 잡념으로 인해 불구가 되지 않고, 무성의로 인해 무능력자가 되지 않고, 열정 없이 하품하는 장애인이 되지 않을 것입니다. 나의 마음은 당신의 마음과 합해져서 열띤 경의로 끓어오를 겁니다. 우리는 결국 하나님과 그 독생자와 함께 온전히 교제할 수 있을 것입니다. 제게는 이것이야 말로 천국에서 누릴 최고의 것입니다.”
그 말은 내 갈라진 마음을 두드렸고 내 초점 없는 영혼을 붙들었습니다. 잡생각이 없이, 이기적인 요구들 없이, 세속적인 언어들을 넘어 솟아오르는데 부족함이 없는 “순수한 찬양”을 드린다는 것은 얼마나 큰 축복일까요!
천국에서는 “다시 저주가 없으며 하나님과 그 어린 양의 보좌가 그 가운데 있으리니 그 종들이 그를 섬기며”(계 22:3) 있을 것입니다. 천국에 대한 소망으로 인하여 바로 지금 여기에서도 우리가 하나님을 영광스럽게 하는 예배를 미리 맛보는 경험을 할 수 있게 해주기를 기원합니다. |

요한계시록 22:1-5
[1] 또 그가 수정 같이 맑은 생명수의 강을 내게 보이니 하나님과 및 어린 양의 보좌로부터 나와서
[2] 길 가운데로 흐르더라 강 좌우에 생명나무가 있어 열두 가지 열매를 맺되 달마다 그 열매를 맺고 그 나무 잎사귀들은 만국을 치료하기 위하여 있더라
[3] 다시 저주가 없으며 하나님과 그 어린 양의 보좌가 그 가운데에 있으리니 그의 종들이 그를 섬기며
